Therapy Intern

Kaitlin McIntyre

Individuals, Couples, & Families

Kaitlin believes that we, and our relationships, are ever-changing and hold countless layers, depths, and keys to living a more meaningful and authentically aligned life. They see their role in the therapeutic process as an act of witnessing, and co-exploration, wherein holding mirrors up to one another, and walking down a path together, is a sacred ritual.

As a certified culturally competent kink professional, Kaitlin understands that identity, heritage, history, biology, neurological wiring, somatic experience, systemic structures, power, and environment shapes us. These experiences and encounters shape the ways we love, connect, and understand our identities.

They are currently pursuing their MA in Couples & Family Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University, and are excited to work with both individuals and relationship configurations of all kinds. They are inspired by attachment and systems theories, the Human Validation Process Model, narrative and feminist therapies, and relational psychoanalysis.

Prior to embarking on their journey to become a therapist, Kaitlin spent 12 years deeply involved in grassroots political activism, and their practice is informed by similar commitments to social justice, advocacy, and equity.
